Have you set your goals for 2010? The first day of the new year is nearly gone for many of us. Most of us probably stayed up later than normal, slept later than usual and didn’t stick to a normal routine. Yet today is the day we use to set resolutions and goals. I don’t do resolutions too much. They seem to pass under the bridge without really slowing down. I do think written goals are an incredibly important part of every person’s life. This post will be short and sweet. It is a simple list of my goals for January 2010.
Notice I don’t say they are for the entire year. It is too easy to let long term goals slide day to day until the year is gone. Closer deadlines work much better to get things done. I think it is one of they hidden laws of the universe that the closer a deadline becomes the greater our effort to reach it. An mathematician would say as time remaining approaches zero, effort approaches infinity
Make sure you write down your goals for the coming month.. and hold yourself accountable. I am publishing mine so have lots of people to hold me accountable. Feel free to post your goals in the comments. If you want some help being accountable for them, use the contact us page and send me an email.
January 2010 Goals
Complete getting ready for tax season (This comes very early as it really kicks off early in January)
Complete report on the Psychology of Wealth and release it to my wonderful subscribers (Hint – sign up now to get in on the coolness)
Launch product on Claiming your Personal Brand
Lose the 11.5 pounds gained over the holidays
Complete company and personal taxes (This would be a record for me so it is my stretch goal for the month)
I was going to add 1 post per day for the next 30 days but have already missed day 1!! Ah well the joy of being a little late
What are your plans? Don’t lay out a long term goal if you can’t back it up with monthly and weekly goals.
